Safe Responsible Movers Wins Bronze in Banker & Tradesman’s Best of 2026
We’re proud to announce that Safe Responsible Movers has earned the Bronze award in the Moving Company category of Banker & Tradesman’s Best of 2026 readers’ poll.
This marks our third Banker & Tradesman award in four years, following Silver awards in 2023 and 2024.
The annual awards recognize businesses serving Massachusetts’ real estate, banking, and related professional industries. Now in its 19th year, the readers’ poll invites thousands of participants to vote for the service providers they believe deserve recognition.
In the 2026 Moving Company category, Gentle Giant received Gold, Father & Son Moving & Storage received Silver, and Safe Responsible Movers received Bronze.
As a small, independently owned Boston moving company competing alongside much larger regional businesses, we’re particularly pleased to receive this recognition.

Serving Boston and Massachusetts Since 2008
Safe Responsible Movers was founded in 2008 by Chris Amaral, a Watertown, Massachusetts native with more than 20 years of experience in the moving industry.
Over the past 18 years, we’ve helped thousands of Boston-area residents and businesses relocate throughout Massachusetts.
Boston presents some unusual challenges for moving companies. Anyone who has carried a sofa up a narrow Beacon Hill staircase, maneuvered furniture through a North End apartment, or tried to park a moving truck in Back Bay understands that moving here requires more than a truck and a few strong people.
Our crews have spent nearly two decades working in these neighborhoods, along with Allston, Brighton, Jamaica Plain, Charlestown, Dorchester, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, and communities throughout Greater Boston.
That hands-on local experience helps us plan moves around difficult staircases, limited parking, elevator reservations, long walks, and building access requirements.
From studio apartments to large households, our residential moving services accommodate moves of different sizes throughout Massachusetts. We also provide commercial moving services for offices and small businesses.
More Than Traditional Household Moving
Although residential moving has always been a major part of our business, we’ve expanded our services over the years to accommodate a wider range of moving needs.
Peloton and Exercise Equipment Moving
One of our specialties is Peloton moving.
Our crews regularly handle Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, and Row equipment, including moves between residences and relocations within the same home.
These machines often require special planning, particularly when navigating staircases or tight spaces. Depending on the model and circumstances, moving them may require partial disassembly, additional movers, and specialized handling.
Moving Services Through the Massachusetts RAFT Program
We also provide RAFT program moving services for Massachusetts households seeking financial assistance with relocation expenses.
The Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program can help eligible households with certain housing-related expenses, including approved moving costs.
Safe Responsible Movers works with customers to prepare detailed moving invoices and documentation for submission to their caseworkers or administering agencies. Once the necessary funding authorization has been received, we can confirm scheduling based on availability.
RAFT eligibility and funding decisions are made by the program’s administrators, not by our company.
In-Home Moving and Labor-Only Services
Not every moving job involves transporting an entire household between two addresses.
Our in-home moving services help customers rearrange furniture, move belongings between floors, prepare rooms for renovations, and complete relocations within the same building.
We also offer labor-only moving services for customers who need professional movers to load or unload rental trucks, PODS, portable storage containers, and storage units.
Additional services include senior and assisted living moves, professional packing, piano moving, and individual furniture relocations.
