Award-Winning Everett Moving Company since 2008 | Safe Responsible Movers

Acclaimed Everett Movers for Apartments, Homes and Offices
Safe Responsible Movers provides professional moving services throughout Everett, Massachusetts. Our Everett movers handle apartments, condominiums, multi-family homes, offices, individual pieces of furniture and moves between Everett and destinations throughout Massachusetts.
We have served Greater Boston since 2008 and have earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, five-star ratings on Google and Yelp, recognition from Boston Magazine, Best Movers honors from The Improper Bostonian and Silver recognition in the Banker & Tradesman Best Movers Poll in both 2023 and 2024.
More importantly, we understand the practical details that determine whether an Everett move runs efficiently. That includes choosing the right crew, finding legal truck access, planning for stairs and narrow entrances, confirming elevator requirements and identifying furniture that may be difficult to remove from an older multi-family home.

Everett Moving Rates and Crew Sizes
Our standard non-peak local moving rates currently start at:
| Crew and Truck | Starting Rate | Common Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Two movers and a 16-foot truck | $179 per hour plus a $179 travel fee | Studios, small one-bedroom apartments, furniture deliveries and lighter moves |
| Three movers and a 16-foot truck | $239 per hour plus a $239 travel fee | Larger apartments, multi-floor moves, stairs and heavier furniture |
| Larger crews or trucks | Quoted according to the move | Houses, large apartments, offices and moves with substantial inventory |
Most moves have a two-hour labor minimum. After the minimum, moving time is billed in 15-minute increments. Peak dates, larger trucks, specialty items and unusually difficult jobs may require different pricing.
Our moving crews arrive with moving blankets, dollies, straps, basic tools, tape and stretch wrap. Ordinary furniture protection and common furniture disassembly and reassembly are included with the moving service.

Choosing the Right Crew for an Everett Move
A two-person crew may be appropriate for a studio, lightly furnished one-bedroom apartment, small in-building move or straightforward furniture delivery.
Three movers are often a better choice when a move involves several flights of stairs, a larger apartment, a full multi-family home, a long walk between the building and truck or a substantial amount of furniture. The additional mover allows the crew to keep items moving while rotating between the residence, stairs and truck.
Larger homes and complicated apartment moves may require four or more movers or a larger truck. A larger crew costs more per hour, but it can reduce the total duration of a move when there are multiple floors, difficult access or a large inventory.
Accurate information helps us recommend the correct crew. Tell us about every staircase, basement, attic, garage, exterior approach and unusually heavy item before moving day.
Local Everett Movers Who Understand the City
Everett is geographically compact, but moving through the city is not always simple. Short driving distances do not necessarily mean a short move. Parking, traffic, stairs and the distance between the truck and entrance often affect the total time more than mileage does.
Broadway runs through the center of Everett and includes a mixture of residential buildings, businesses, bus traffic and busy intersections. Route 16 carries substantial traffic through the southern portion of the city, while many residential side streets provide limited room for a large moving truck.
Our Everett moving company serves customers throughout:
- Everett Square and the Broadway corridor
- Glendale and the area surrounding Glendale Square
- Woodlawn
- The Village
- The Line and the Malden border
- Lower Broadway and southern Everett
- Properties near Ferry Street, Main Street and Chelsea Street
- Apartment buildings and developments throughout Everett
We also regularly move customers between Everett and nearby communities such as Malden, Medford and Somerville.
Parking and Truck Access in Everett
Truck access should be considered before moving day. A moving truck parked directly outside the entrance can save substantial time compared with carrying furniture from around the corner or several houses away.
Everett parking restrictions may involve resident-only areas, posted time limits, street sweeping, snow regulations, bus stops, hydrants, intersections and other location-specific restrictions. Customers should inspect the street signs at both addresses rather than assuming the truck can park wherever a personal vehicle normally parks.
The City of Everett does not present the same dedicated online moving-truck reservation process used by some nearby cities on its primary parking pages. When street access is uncertain, contact the Everett Parking Clerk or building management before the move and ask what arrangements are available for the specific address.
Before moving day, confirm:
- Where the moving truck can legally park
- Whether the building has a driveway or loading area
- Whether street sweeping affects either side of the street
- Whether a loading dock or service entrance must be reserved
- Whether the truck will block a driveway, hydrant or bus stop
- Whether there is enough vertical clearance for the truck
- How far the crew must carry furniture from the entrance
A long carry can materially increase the time required for a move, even when the two addresses are only a few miles apart.
Everett Apartment and Multi-Family Home Movers
Everett contains a substantial number of apartments, converted two-family homes and multi-family properties. These moves frequently involve narrow staircases, tight landings, exterior stairs, basement storage and limited driveway access.
Our apartment movers can handle walkups, elevator buildings and moves between units in the same property.
Let us know in advance about:
- Second-floor and third-floor apartments
- Narrow interior or exterior staircases
- Sharp turns and low ceilings
- Basement or attic items
- Large sectional couches
- King-size mattresses and rigid box springs
- Heavy dressers, armoires and sleeper sofas
- Exercise equipment or unusually heavy furniture
- Long hallways or walks from the street
A couch or box spring that fit into one home may not fit through the staircase at the new address. Photos and measurements can help us identify questionable items before moving day. Some furniture can be disassembled, while other pieces may require a different entrance or a larger crew.
Elevator Buildings and Managed Properties
Customers moving into a larger apartment or condominium building should contact management well before the move. A building may require a reserved freight elevator, designated loading area, certificate of insurance or specific moving hours.
Ask building management about:
- Available moving dates and hours
- Freight elevator reservations
- Loading dock or service entrance access
- Truck size and height restrictions
- Certificate of insurance requirements
- Required wall, floor or elevator protection
- Where the crew must check in
- Whether building staff must be present
Safe Responsible Movers can provide a certificate of insurance when required. Send us the building’s exact insurance instructions early enough for the certificate to be prepared correctly.

RAFT-Funded Moves
Safe Responsible Movers accepts qualifying moves funded through the Massachusetts RAFT program. We can provide a detailed moving invoice based on the addresses, inventory, access and crew required.

Frequently Asked Questions About Everett Movers
How much do Everett movers cost?
Our standard rates currently start at $179 per hour plus a $179 travel fee for two movers and a 16-foot truck. Three movers and a 16-foot truck start at $239 per hour plus a $239 travel fee. Most moves have a two-hour labor minimum.
The total cost depends on the crew size, truck size, inventory, total moving time, stairs, elevators, walking distance, packing requirements and access at each address.
Do I need to reserve parking for an Everett moving truck?
Parking arrangements depend on the address. Check all posted restrictions and contact building management or the Everett Parking Clerk when the truck will depend on public street space. Do not assume a moving truck can legally use a resident space, bus stop, hydrant area or other restricted location.
How far ahead should I book Everett movers?
Two to three weeks is a reasonable minimum for many ordinary dates. Book earlier for weekends, summer dates, the beginning or end of the month and dates around September 1. Availability for those periods can fill considerably earlier.
Can you move an Everett third-floor apartment?
Yes. We regularly handle upper-floor apartment moves. Provide the exact number of interior and exterior staircases, information about narrow turns and photos of any questionable furniture so we can recommend an appropriate crew.
Can you load or unload my rental truck or storage container?
Yes. Our labor-only moving service can load or unload U-Haul and Penske trucks, PODS, U-Boxes, Pack Rat containers, U-Pack trailers, storage units and customer-owned vehicles.
Do you perform interstate moves?
Safe Responsible Movers performs moves within Massachusetts. We can move customers between Everett and destinations throughout the state, but we do not transport household goods to another state.
Are you available for small Everett moves?
Yes. We handle individual pieces of furniture, studio apartments, small deliveries, in-building moves and other lighter jobs. Our standard two-hour labor minimum and travel fee generally apply even when the physical moving work takes less than two hours.
Do you provide packing materials?
Ordinary moving blankets, tape and stretch wrap used to protect furniture during the move are included. Boxes, packing paper, mattress bags, wardrobe boxes and specialty packing materials may be additional.
