Of course, Carver is most famous nowadays for King Richard’s Faire, the oldest Renaissance Fair in the country. In addition to the Edaville attraction, the family-friendly historical reenactment happens every Autumn in Carver. And at the Faire, you can can get old-fashioned turkey leg, go for a pony ride, or test your strength at knife-throwing. And yet, the festival is a bit of an anachronism.
However, Carver’s true history lies in its name — John Carver, Governor of the group of Pilgrims who sailed on the Mayflower, is the namesake of the town. So here’s a sweet painting of Carver and his associates — the original Carver Movers, you might say:
