UPDATE: Movers Essential Workers during pandemic, says Gov. Baker

by | Mar 23, 2020

As of today, March 23rd, 2020, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has updated its guidelines for “COVID-19 Essential Services,” as part of the state’s overall response to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has listed “Workers who support moving and storage services” as essential. This means that moving companies are being asked to remain operational while residents stay at home in an effort to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Safe Responsible Movers is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. While we are not planning on canceling operations at the moment, we understand that this is an evolving situation and will post another update if we get further (or different) directions from either the federal government or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What you should know about our operations during this time:

  • All of our trucks are well stocked with sanitizers and cleaning supplies, and we are cleaning them as often as we can.
  • None of our employees have experienced any symptoms or traveled to any high-risk areas in the last two months.
  • If you have a move scheduled, please inform us if you have tested positive. Also let us know if you have experienced any symptoms, or if you have recently traveled to a high-risk area. We know rescheduling a move can be a hassle! But it’s better than getting sick or risk spreading the disease further. The sooner you let us know, the better we can adjust and accommodate you.
